Lake Arrowhead Weekend

KK and D:  We couldn't be more excited to spend our last weekend before I go back to school through the end of July with a trip to Lake Arrowhead.   So for July 19-21st, we headed to the Macer cousins' cousins' home (Uncle Bud's Brother's place) in the Mountains.
We left early enough to get there in time for a Cocktail Cruise on the boat.
D feels the need - the need for boat speed!
 Glam boater!
 Great times.
 Hold on!

We are so blessed to be enjoying our Friday evening on the boat!

 Bad news bears though....
Daddy got the stomach flu from a business lunch he had yesterday (bad crab cakes, bad!) and he was SOOOO sick last night, all night.  And he's still sick this morning.  In the 12 years Mommy has known him, he has never been this sick.   Poor Daddy.  Not the vacation weekend he imagined.
We headed out with Mommy upon first light and headed into the Lake Arrowhead Village to give him some space and peace & quiet.
This place is awesome!   (although Mommy needed coffee bad and only McDonald's was open this early!)   First we fed the ducks...
then we went to the park and had snacks...grape chipmunk cheeks!!!
And then we headed to Lollipop Park!!!!
A little amusement park right in the village.  Was this place made for us or what?!?!

All aboard!!!   Not bad - a choo choo along the water!
 Ahoy mateys!
 Swing time!
 Giddy up!!   Great morning!
Back at the house - beach time!!!
Then mac and cheese overlooking the lake.
Ain't life grand!
Hanging out with the cousins.   We are so blessed.
And a little movie time to wrap up the day.   Fun, fun, fun!
Thankfully, Daddy was up and about by Saturday night and we had a killer dinner on the deck of steaks, asparagus, peach cobbler and more.   Then the adults stayed up playing (apparently) hilarious card games that we're too young to hear about.  Sounds awfully suspicious to me...
Sunday was a blast - fun truck-driver breakfast in Blue Jay at a diner with Mommy and Daddy, then brunch with the Macers in the Village and nap time on the boat.
Great weekend!
Now, for KK: two weeks of school ahead.  In July we're studying stars and planets and I get to do my first field trip, on a big yellow bus even!, to go to the Planetarium just like in my Fancy Nancy book - yeah baby!!!
