The real reason for the weekend in Carlsbad was to celebrate Uncle Rich's ("RiRi's") 100th Marathon on his 60th Birthday!!!! Yep....let that statement just soak in for a bit....can you believe it?!?!?!
We got all ready to head out and grabbed a perfect spot right at the finish line of the Carlsbad Marathon and Half-Marathon.

Daddy was a super-stud. Not only had he now caught the evil cold but he had been in the middle of trial prep for the last months and so hadn't really trained as diligently as he would have liked. But he surprised us all by running a rocking 1 hour 39 minute half-marathon. He went so fast we almost missed him crossing the finish line cause we weren't looking for him yet!!! Go Daddy Go!

Uncle Rich has run a marathon in all of the 50 states and all of the Canadian territories. He has run marathons on back-to-back weekends (like he did this time) and even back-to-back days!!! He's run the most grueling Pikes Peak Marathon ("Oxygen is overrated" at over 14,000 feet) and some of the most famous marathons like Big Sur. We made signs and had noise makers waiting for him to cross the finish line. Way to go RiRi!!!!

Uncle Rich and Aunt Pij, enjoying the finish line for #100!!!

Our studly racers.

I want in the picture to remember this awesome day!

The Roth fam...

Congrats Daddy!

Happy Birthday Uncle RiRi! He makes 60 look like 30!

Whoo hoo!

All the cousins ready to celebrate!

Congrats Daddy for rocking the half-marathon and Congrats Uncle Rich for such an amazing accomplishment - 100th marathon on your 60th Birthday! I'm so glad I was here to witness such greatness!!
