This year we started the holiday prep over at Auntie Katy's house. As kids, we're not exactly sure what this means, but Uncle Jeff is no longer living at the house with Auntie Katy and the three kids. At this point, we're hoping that it's an extended vacation or work trip of some sort. But, Mommy and Daddy don't use his name around us any more without getting sad, so we're also wondering if it's something worse - possibly he's trapped in a tall tower somewhere like the girl in "Tangled", or his train broke down like in the "Little Engine That Could" and the brave blue engine hasn't arrived yet to save the day. We'd help look for him if we knew where to start....hopefully God will find him and bring him home.
The big bright silver lining to his unexplained disappearance is that our whole group of friends has gathered around to fill his shoes. All of the other Daddy's in our posse hung the Christmas lights and setup the tree at Auntie Katy's. It was our family motto of "we are blessed to be a blessing" in action. I love our group of friends because when the going gets tough - the group gets going. It's a great reminder of how important it is to surround yourself with great people.
I'm proud to call these people our friends.
Now over to our house....
Dylan and I each got trees in our room to decorate this year. Here is D's tree with lots of cool ornaments from GiGi and GPapa Lyons, some of Daddy's old ornaments, and some awesome cars from Uncle David.
And my awesome tree in my room!
And we were big helpers on our family tree this year too! Looking good!
We're super excited about the newest addition to our decor - a real choo choo train under the tree!
All aboard!
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
Merry December to all and to all a good night!
